Vidya Niketan College of Pharmacy

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Vidya Niketan College of Pharmacy organized a special NSS camp at Kati village with the aim of promoting social awareness, community service, and rural development. Final year students actively participated in this camp and carried out various social, environmental, and health-related activities for the benefit of the villagers and school students.

The camp provided an opportunity for students to interact with the rural community and contribute to society through meaningful service activities.

Objectives of the Camp

The main objectives of organizing the NSS camp were:

• To promote cleanliness and hygiene in rural areas.
• To create awareness about health and environmental protection
• To encourage social responsibility among students.

• To provide basic health checkups for villagers and school children.

Activities Conducted in Kati Village

1. Gram Swachata (Village Cleanliness Drive)

NSS volunteers organized a Gram Swachata Abhiyan in Kati village. Students cleaned public places, village roads, and surrounding areas. This activity helped spread awareness among villagers about maintaining cleanliness and a healthy environment.

2. Dustbin Distribution

Dustbins were distributed to villagers to promote proper waste disposal. Students explained the importance of waste management and encouraged villagers to keep their surroundings clean.

3. Tree Plantation Program

A tree plantation drive was conducted in the village to promote environmental conservation. NSS volunteers planted several saplings and informed villagers about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and improving air quality.

4. Health Checkup Activities

The NSS team conducted basic health checkup programs for villagers and school students. These activities included:

• Blood Group Detection: Students helped identify the blood groups of villagers and school children, which is important information in medical emergencies.
• BMI (Body Mass Index) Checkup: Height and weight measurements were taken to calculate BMI and assess the general health status of participants.
• Blood Pressure Checkup: Blood pressure levels of villagers were checked to create awareness about hypertension and cardiovascular health.

These health checkups helped villagers become more aware of their health condition and encouraged them to take preventive measures for better health.

5. Street Play for Social Awareness

NSS volunteers performed a street play (Nukkad Natak) in the village to spread awareness about important social issues such as cleanliness, health, education, and environmental protection. The street play attracted the attention of villagers and effectively delivered important social messages.

Activities Conducted at Kateshwar Mahavidyalay School

1. Speech Competition

A speech competition was organized for school students to develop their communication skills and confidence. Students enthusiastically participated and expressed their thoughts on different topics.

2. Sports Activities for Children

Various sports and games were organized for school children to encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and active participation. The children enjoyed the activities and participated with great enthusiasm.

3. School Ground Preparation

NSS volunteers helped in cleaning and preparing the school playground. This activity made the ground more suitable and safe for sports and other physical activities for the students.

4. Painting of School Compound Wall

The NSS team painted the school compound wall to improve the appearance of the campus. This activity helped create a clean, colorful, and motivating environment for the school students.

Student Participation

Final year students of Vidya Niketan College of Pharmacy actively participated in all activities with dedication and teamwork. Their enthusiasm and cooperation ensured the successful completion of all programs conducted during the camp.
